Step-by-step guide for vendors — search HubGuard, spot red flags, and confirm official application URLs before sending money.
Why verify before you pay
Impersonation scams target craft fair vendors through fake Instagram accounts and personal payment requests. HubGuard gives you a public trust report for organizers on Popup Hub before you send booth fees.
Step 1 — Search HubGuard
Go to popuphub.ca/check and search the organizer or market name. Review official website links, social profiles, vendor mentions, and any published scam alerts.
- Official application URLs should match the organizer's verified Popup Hub listing or branded website.
- Payment instructions in DMs from personal accounts are a major red flag.
- Compare social posts — do they link to the same official domain?
Step 2 — Confirm the application URL
Legitimate markets publish a Popup Hub vendor application link. Coordinators can embed official badges from popuphub.ca/for-organizers/embed so vendors know which URL is real.
Step 3 — Pay through official channels
After acceptance, pay through the checkout flow linked from your Popup Hub application — not through unsolicited social messages. Save receipts and booth assignment details in writing.
